1999 Amman/Jordan
The 4th conference of the middle east group for spine and the foundation conference of the pan Arab spine society where the foundation council as formed which was assigned to set the main rules and regulations of the society.
This took place at the attendance of the deceased Dr.Hassan Khrais the secretary general of the Union of Arab Doctors and The conference was under patronage of his Excellency king Abdullah the 2nd and the prime minister Abdulraoof Al-rawabdeh was elected.

1st conference 2000 Tripoli/Libya
It was held in Al-mahari hotel –Tripoli where the main rules and regulations at the presence of the secretary general of the Union of Arab Doctors and the general assembly was elected and administrative council of the society.

2nd conference 2001 Horghada/Egypt
This conference was held with  the cooperation and organization by the department of brain and neural surgery , faculty of medicine , Alexandria university and headed by Dr.Adel Issa the head of the department.

3rd conference 2003 Amman/Jordan
The conference was held in combination with the Arab society of orthopedics headed by both Dr.Yousuf Orikat the president of the Jordanian society of spine and Dr.Yousuf Othman the president of Jordanian orthopedics  society. During this conference the elected general assembly in 2000 was renewed for the next period

4th conference 2006 Aleppo/Syria
It’s a necessity that everyone participated in the march of the pan Arab spine society to remember happily the 4th conference in 2006 where it was able to achieve the main objective of the society such as supporting the new founded society in the hosting country, exchange of experiences with the Arab colleagues and connecting them together with their counterparts in the overseas, direct communication with the foreign doctors distinct in this field. Also physicians paid attention to resident doctors and nursing personnel for surgical operations where a practical course was held in parallel to both groups and this reflected positively on the sponsoring medical companies of the conference. Also the election of the society council was performed for the next 4 years which contributes in the affiliation of those who want to participate in the work of  developing the society and the evaluation of the  past period.

5th conference 2007 Tunisia/the capital
This conference was distinct from the practical point on view where it was focused on spinal column and spinal chord injuries Dr. Morabet was able to gather of many international experts in this field.
During this conference the ties among spine doctors were tightly made in the east and west of the Arab world

6th conference 2008 Sana/Yemen
This conference was held in spite of all difficulties in Sana and was opened by the prime minister, it was one of the most attended conferences.
This conference was held in cooperation with the Yemen neural society simultaneously with its first conference. This conference was distinct concerning the meeting among spine and neural surgeons in the Arab world, also it was distinct in directing the interest to spinal surgery in the  Arab world by the initiative of the Arab fellowship of spine.

7th conference October 2009, Cairo
We expect the success of this conference in preparation and more strengthening of the based  of the society.

As you note that the society conferences were moved  among many Arab capitals. In spite of difficulties encountered by the Arab conferences in general, within 10 years, 7 conferences were held which we ca describe that 50% of them succeeded in strengthening the relations among doctors and surgeons in the Arab world .Also they present an image about the reality of spinal surgery in the Arab countries in addition to preparing young doctors towards this discipline and highlighting the recent developments in this field concerning diagnosis or treatment of spinal problems.
